First Post & Welcome!
Ok.. here it goes for my new blog. I have been doing a bunch of shopping (with and without coupons) and I figured this was the best way to share my experiences! I will be reviewing items that we get and even the store I shop at. Feel free to post replies or suggestions.
This process all began in March while my husband was away on business. Actually the shopping started long before March of 2011 but the extreme coupons did not come until 2011. I was up late one night, unable to sleep, when I saw an episode of Extreme Couponing on TLC. I thought to myself, "I can do that!" So I decided to try.
I went out and bought a binder (on clearance at Walmart for $2.99) and 4 packs of Baseball Card Sleeves ($4.99 each at Walmart) and was on my way. I then signed up to receive 6 Sunday papers ( I learned that Publix allows a coupon on a BOGO which means you have to have 2 coupons - 1 for the Buy One and 1 for the Get One... Then you end up getting both for free!).
A bit of info about me...
I am a wife of 11 years and a mother of 2 girls. I am a full-time high school English teacher at a local private Christian school. I enjoy reading, scrapbooking, and shopping in my free time. I started couponing because God has blessed my family and I wanted to bless others with our abundance.
If this is your first time visiting Confessions of a True Shop-a-Holic Mommy the most important piece of advice I have is this: don’t expect to go out tomorrow and get $1,000 worth of groceries for $60, it takes time and practice. Be patient!
